Paul F. DeRubeis
Paul, former director of bands at Rochester College, retired 2014 from Bloomfield Hills Schools after 38 years of teaching band. He continues to serve as a guest conductor, adjudicator, clinician, and instructor of low brass and is a member of the American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA) and emeritus member of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra (MSBOA). Mr. DeRubeis was the MSBOA District IV Band Teacher of the year in 2003 and 2010. He has presented numerous sessions at the Midwestern Conference on Music and Michigan Music Conference. In April, he was the guest conductor of the Motor City Symphony Orchestra for their annual youth concerts. Mr. DeRubeis is also committee chair for MSBOA activities at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival at Western Michigan University and performs on trombone and euphonium in the St. Mary of the Hills Brass Choir, Southeastern Michigan Wind Ensemble and the North Oakland Community Concert Band.
